Europe’s silence on the Iran war is rooted in desperation. After cutting Russian gas in 2022, they relied on Qatar’s LNG. Now, Qatar has halted production, Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz, and Houthis control Bab al-Mandeb. Putin has threatened to cut remaining flows, leaving Europe without Russian gas, Gulf LNG, or Iranian oil. With every energy source blocked, Europe faces a winter it cannot afford. Already strained by funding Ukraine, governments lack leverage. Behind closed doors, they are negotiating energy deals with the U.S. and Gulf states, ready to support whatever keeps gas flowing. Once proud of lecturing the world on human rights, Europe now stays quiet because survival demands it. The continent of 450 million is effectively hostage to energy shortages and geopolitical wars.

Indian politics is unfolding on a vast canvas. Nitish Kumar is set to move to the Rajya Sabha, fulfilling his wish of serving in all parliamentary houses. His son, long kept away from power to avoid dynastic criticism, is now poised to become Deputy CM—an emotional shift carefully managed by party strategists and “Mota Bhai.” Bureaucratic maneuvering and subtle persuasion have ensured this transition. Meanwhile, alliances stretch across Bihar, Bengal, and Maharashtra. Hemant Soren’s safe passage signals boundary management, while Bihar’s influence in Bengal’s border districts could reshape electoral equations. In Maharashtra, key faces of the INDIA bloc may be nudged toward the Rajya Sabha, balancing power. The BJP’s strategy appears to lock down states sending nearly 200 MPs—Bihar, Bengal, UP, and Maharashtra—laying groundwork for 2029.

Iran’s missile and drone stockpiles are dwindling after nearly 5,000 U.S. and Israeli air sorties destroyed launch pads, warehouses, and key officers. Casualties are mounting—each strike killing dozens—raising questions about the true toll. In a new tactic, Kurdish women fighters have crossed from Iraq into Iran, a move that deeply unsettles Iranian leadership due to cultural and religious symbolism. Unable to inflict serious damage on U.S. or Israeli military bases, Iran has shifted to targeting embassies and softer assets. Meanwhile, around 200,000 Americans in the Gulf are being relocated as precaution. Reports suggest at least 20 Iranian ships have been sunk in just two days. Analysts warn that Iran’s leadership could collapse within weeks, with Mossad striking swiftly at any emerging figures. India’s stance remains clear: stay distant from the conflict.

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has ordered suspension of TV news TRP ratings for four weeks, or until further notice. The directive comes in response to sensational and speculative coverage of the ongoing Israel–Iran conflict. BARC has been instructed to immediately halt the publication of Television Rating Points for all news channels. Officials say the move is intended to prevent panic among viewers and discourage exaggerated reporting during a sensitive international crisis. By pausing TRP ratings, the government aims to reduce competitive sensationalism among broadcasters and ensure more responsible coverage. This step highlights the administration’s concern that aggressive news cycles can amplify fear and misinformation, especially during volatile geopolitical events.

The Middle East is witnessing unprecedented escalation. For the first time, U.S. bases, Israeli targets, and even Gulf business hubs like Dubai and Abu Dhabi are under attack. Iran has openly declared revenge, with its fighters embracing martyrdom as a sacred duty. The death of Ayatollah Khamenei has deeply stirred emotions, pushing the nation into a dangerous resolve—either survival or sacrifice.Reports suggest panic in Israel, with rumors of Netanyahu fleeing. Despite Iran’s advanced science, Khamenei had resisted building nuclear weapons, reflecting his moderate and religious outlook. His passing marks a turning point: restraint may vanish, and war could spiral uncontrollably. The fervor of Shia communities, known for their discipline and knowledge, now fuels a volatile mix of faith and fury. The region stands at the brink of a wider conflict.
