Nashik citizens face severe harassment due to continuous road digging under the guise of Simhastha Kumbh Mela preparations. Routes entering the city via Ghoti, Pimpalgaon Baswant, and Shinde toll plazas are plagued by horrific traffic jams, massive potholes, and slow-paced construction. With roads in such a dilapidated condition, extracting full toll fees from commuters is daylight robbery. It proves that tolls have become mere money-making rackets rather than a means to provide safe, quality roads. Even after Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri recently exposed substandard road quality, corruption and a "percentage culture" among contractors, engineers, and officials evidently compromise construction. The Chief Minister must immediately intervene and suspend toll collection until all roads are completely repaired. Charging for broken roads is an outright injustice to tax-paying citizens.
