As a Rajya Sabha seat opens and elections loom, the question arises: will the BJP nominate a Kshatriya from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, or Bihar? The likelihood seems slim, given Amit Shah’s consistent record of sidelining Kshatriya leaders. In Jharkhand, two sitting MPs lost their tickets, reducing representation to zero. Chhattisgarh once had both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Kshatriya MPs—now none. Madhya Pradesh, once strong with multiple MPs, has been cut down to a single Lok Sabha seat. Uttar Pradesh saw tickets withdrawn in constituencies like Pratapgarh and Gorakhpur. Gujarat, Haryana, and Delhi offer no representation at all. Today, only one state president and one organizational minister remain. In contemporary politics, Amit Shah stands as the most prominent anti‑Kshatriya leader—perhaps rivaled only by Nehru in the past.

Iran has launched missiles and drones against seven Islamic states—Jordan, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia—justifying the strikes by citing US bases within their borders. Yet, the reality is stark: Muslim nations are now fighting each other. Pakistan’s defense minister even declared war with Afghanistan, adding to the chaos. These tensions, erupting during Ramadan, raise uncomfortable questions: is this the unity of the Muslim Ummah? Meanwhile, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), with 57 member states, remains silent. Not one nation, nor the OIC itself, has taken a stand, leaving the UN as the only expected actor. If Islamic cooperation means watching in silence while Muslim countries attack one another, then what exactly is its purpose?

During a WION debate on the Iran–Israel/US conflict, West Asia expert Dr. Avner Cohen shared his views. Curious about his surname, I searched: Is Cohen a Jewish surname? The answer revealed Cohen belongs to the Jewish priestly caste, tracing lineage to Aaron—the brother of Moses. Aaron is regarded as the original priest, lawgiver, and spiritual guide, while Moses is revered as the founder of Israel. In essence, both were part of a priestly tradition, akin to a Brahmin caste within Judaism. The irony is striking: even among Jews, priestly hierarchy exists, with Aaron as the archetypal “Brahmin.” Perhaps that explains why many Indian Brahmins often sympathize with Israel—seeing a reflection of their own priestly identity in Jewish tradition. A curious cultural echo indeed.

In Srinagar’s Lal Chowk, 100–150 men gathered to protest Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s killing, followed by a silent march of women. In Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Shia communities staged fierce demonstrations outside the UN office. Karachi saw protesters storm the US Consulate, attempting arson, prompting police and army gunfire that killed ten demonstrators. In Baghdad, Shia Muslims condemned the manner of Khamenei’s death. Iran’s president declared his killing an insult to all Muslims. Yet, of 57 Muslim nations, none besides Iran has officially condemned the US–Israel strike that eliminated Khamenei and nearly 40 Iranian officials. Neither individual states nor the OIC have spoken. This silence reinforces a global perception: Muslim nations lack strength and capacity, but excel in rhetoric and empty bravado.

Sanjay Raut’s penchant for bizarre questions—like asking why Prime Minister Modi did not stop the Iran–Israel/US conflict—only highlights his irrelevance. Yet, when it comes to the Rajya Sabha, his own demands expose contradictions. He insists Sharad Pawar should be the Mahavikas Aghadi nominee, but his party’s youth leader and now the Congress itself have ignored that suggestion. Congress has not outright rejected Pawar but is pressing for its own candidate. The irony is clear: no one will ever ask Raut why he failed to stop a global war, but they can certainly ask why he cannot secure Aditya Thackeray’s and Rahul Gandhi’s consent for Pawar’s nomination. That is the real test. Can Raut deliver even this modest task, or will he remain a loud voice without influence?
