Breaking News—Baramati’s Burger Diplomacy. In a development that may alter the course of human civilization, McDonald’s has opened a store in Baramati—and none other than Sharad Pawar graced it with his presence. ABP Majha, in a heroic act of journalistic urgency, reported this earth-shattering event… online. Shockingly, their Marathi TV channel failed to broadcast it, depriving millions of viewers of this existential revelation. How will the global order respond? Will NATO convene? Will the UN issue a statement? The silence from ABP’s satellite wing is deafening. In a world teetering on climate collapse, war, and economic instability, the real story was always this: a burger, a statesman, and a missed TV bulletin. The people demand answers. And fries. Preferably with extra coverage.

Voter Yatra in Bihar—Noise Without Navigation. Fifteen days of shouting across Bihar under the banner of “Voter Rights Yatra”—but to what end? With Mahagathbandhan tensions rising, Congress dispatched Ashok Gehlot to meet Lalu Yadav. The press conference that followed declared all was well, with Tejashwi as CM and Mukesh Sahani as Deputy CM. Yet Rahul Gandhi’s face was missing from the posters, and Congress’s role in the future cabinet went unmentioned. Rahul’s leadership appears adrift—impulsive campaigns launched without strategy, blindly followed by Delhi’s senior Congress figures and imposed on state units. The Bihar Yatra is just another chapter in this pattern of aimless mobilization. What has Congress truly gained from these theatrics? No one within the party seems interested in asking. The absence of introspection is as glaring as the absence of Rahul himself.

Dhangekar’s Drama—Politics or Property Play? Three years, four party homes, and countless stunts—Dhangekar’s political career reads like a script for survival. From winning a bypoll lottery in 2019 to losing credibility in 2024, his trajectory reflects more theatrics than substance. When one must resort to stunts to stay relevant, it’s a loud admission of political fragility. Now, as Pune gears up for municipal elections, Dhangekar returns with another controversy—this time involving the Seth Hirachand Nemchand Smarak Trust and Gokhale Estate LLP. He alleges land sale; the Trust claims redevelopment. The property in question spans 3.5 acres, and the Trust insists its aging structure demands renewal. Transactions with Gokhale Real Estate are on record. But is this about urban planning or political mudslinging? With NCP-SP and Shiv Sena (UBT) backing him, Dhangekar seems more invested in stirring dust than offering clarity. Pune deserves development, not diversion.

“Mumbai Is Ours”—A Hollow Claim Backed by Shrinking Numbers. The chest-thumping cry of “Mumbai is ours” from the Ubaṭhā camp rings increasingly hollow when held up to electoral reality. Despite their swagger, Mumbai’s voters have consistently kept them at the doorstep, never inside with a majority. Over the past five municipal elections, the party has crossed the 100-seat mark only once—in 1997, with 103 corporators. Even then, they fell short of the 112 needed for a majority. Since then, it’s been a steady decline: 97 seats in 2002, 84 in 2007, 75 in 2012, and back to 84 in 2017—despite an alliance with the BJP. The much-hyped love for MNS didn’t stop them from poaching six of its seven corporators. And now, with Eknath Shinde commanding the loyalty of core Shiv Sainiks, even the Dussehra rally saw empty chairs. So, how long can one keep flexing muscles when the numbers tell a different story?

Subsidized Stardom or State-Sponsored Privilege? When a legendary singer Asha Bhosale seeks 2000 sq. meters of prime land for a private music academy, it raises more than just eyebrows—it raises questions. At ₹70,000 per sq. ft. in Bandra, that’s a ₹151 crore asset. But will this academy serve the musically gifted child from a chawl, or only the elite? Time and again, we see artists-turned-entrepreneurs leveraging state largesse to build institutions that charge fees beyond the reach of commoners. Unlike the insurance agent, the grocer, or the small-scale entrepreneur in MIDC, these cultural icons receive land, tax breaks, and political blessings. Why? Is celebrity the new eligibility for public subsidy? If the land is public, shouldn’t its benefit be public too? Or is this just another tune in the symphony of state-sponsored stardom?
