...तीन प्रखरचा आवाज - विश्वासार्ह बातमी !CBI Arrests Railway Engineer in West Bengal while accepting Rs. 4 Lakh BribeDated: 25.07.2026The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Deputy Chief Signal & Telecommunication Engineer, South Eastern Railway, Chakradharpur along with two representatives of M/s MRT Signals Ltd, Kolkata, in a bribery case.The CBI registered the instant case on 24.07.2026 against the said public servant and other accused persons on allegations that the accused public servant, in conspiracy with other accused persons, had been obtaining undue advantage from M/s MRT Signals Ltd, Kolkata in lieu of extending undue favours in the processing and approval of Contract Variation File relating to Price Variation Clause (PVC) and other matters relating to Signal & Telecommunication works being executed by the company under the Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway.It was further alleged that the accused public servant had earlier obtained Rs. 5 Lakh during May 2026 for extending undue favour in connection with the processing of the contract variation file. It was also alleged that the accused public servant had demanded and agreed to receive the pending share of the illegal gratification from the representatives of the private company for further extending undue official favours.The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused Public Servant red-handed while accepting Rs. 4 Lakh as illegal gratification from the representatives of the private company. The bribe amount of Rs. 4 Lakh was recovered and seized.Searches in the residential and office premises of the accused persons were conducted at multiple locations in West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar. Incriminating documents and digital evidence have been recovered and seized. The accused are being produced before the Competent Court.This is the first CBI trap case relating to bribery in the State of West Bengal after several years. The Hon'ble Special Court vide its order dated 18.07.2026 allowed the application filed by the ED in PMLA Special Case No. 12 of 2018 and ordered the confiscation of Flat, Ruby Building, Regency Tower, Building No. 1, Ghodbunder Road, Thane (West) to the Central Government under Section 8(7) of the PMLA, 2002.Directorate of Enforcement (ED)

PRESS RELEASE

23.07.2026Hon'ble Special Court (PMLA), Mumbai has ordered the confiscation of an immovable property under Section 8(7) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with a money laundering case involving Sandeep Shukla and others of Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Mumbai Zonal Office. The Hon'ble Special Court vide its order dated 18.07.2026 allowed the application filed by the ED in PMLA Special Case No. 12 of 2018 and ordered the confiscation of Flat No. 901, 9th Floor, Ruby Building, Regency Tower, Building No. 1, Ghodbunder Road, Thane (West) to the Central Government under Section 8(7) of the PMLA.ED initiated investigation on the basis of FIR No. 136/2010 dated 08.04.2010, which was later transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Mumbai and re-registered as C.R. No. 22/2010. Following investigation, EOW filed a charge sheet on 13.03.2013 against Sandeep Lallabahadur Shukla, Manoj Lallabahadur Shukla, Sebastian Michael Perera and Nilesh Dattatray Khotare, alleging that they had jointly established M/s Yescube Infrastructure Ltd. operating through its registered office in Borivali (West), Mumbai, and several branch offices across Maharashtra.Investigation revealed that the accused persons fraudulently floated various investment schemes through false newspaper advertisements, promising unrealistically high returns and tentative ownership of land/property without having any feasible business model. They illegally collected money from investors, causing wrongful loss to the public and wrongful gain to themselves.Investigation further revealed that the said accused persons opened and operated bank accounts in the name of M/s Yescube Infrastructure Ltd. with various banks, through which a total amount of Rs. 27.92 Crore (approx.) was collected, out of which Rs. 18.62 Crore (approx.) was repaid and the remaining Rs. 9.30 Crore (approx.) constituted the wrongful gain forming the "Proceeds of Crime".
